The name of the Coalition is drawn from the city of Annapolis, Maryland, site of the first national meeting on the workforce crisis in behavioral health. Our founding members secured support from the federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to bring leaders from across the country to Annapolis on September 10-11, 2001 to begin identifying the workforce challenges and potential solutions.
